I’m 'Simon' the Silver Maple, and native to the Eastern North America. Silver maple is a large shade tree that gets its common name from the silvery undersides of its leaves. It can be found in flood plains, along rivers, or low-lying woodlands.
Care: I like morning sun and bright indirect sun during hot summer days. Water me well once a week, and twice a week June through August. Remember I am an outdoor tree and I need to be outside! During the winter months, keep me in temperatures between 32 - 60 degrees Fahrenheit so that I can go dormant over winter. Do not keep me in an indoor heated environment in winter.
Symbolism: We think maples display both strong and soft qualities, able to create gentle curves and motion in the landscape. The Silver Maple's affinity to water give it symbolic qualities of renewal and clarity.
