I’m Fred the Japanese Black Pine. I have a natural pine scent which gets stronger in the summer sun. As an evergreen conifer, I prefer part-full sun, or at least 3-6 hours of direct sun per day. I am an outdoor bonsai, so please don't keep me indoors! I need winter temperatures of under 50F in order to properly go dormant and rest up until spring.
Give me a deep watering by submerging my pot up to the rim once every 5 days, more often, even daily, when on very hot and sunny days in July and August. Make sure to let drain thoroughly. I'm cold hardy, but I still need to be protected from harsh winds in the winter.
