This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it!

I’m Tig the Green Island Fig, native to Southeast Asia. I’m rugged, easy-care and slow-growing. I like to spread out my branches sideways as I grow, giving me a nice sculptural form. Though I may not fruit all the time, I produce figs the size of small berries that appear throughout the year. My shiny leaves contrast with berries that turn dark brown when ripe. Although edible, they aren’t that appealing to humans. Keep me in a location that has partial or direct sunlight.

I thrive in full to partial sun. To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and then let me drain thoroughly. Do this about once every 5-10 days, or when my pot feels about 1/2 lighter. I like temperatures between 55-80˚F all year. Keep me away from heaters in the winter and on nice days you can even take me outside!

Symbolism: Native to South East Asia and the Middle East, the Fig Tree is one of the earliest trees to have ever been recorded. It is well known that figs are a recurring theme in religion: it is the first fruit tree mentioned in the Bible. In this context, the fruit can symbolize both knowledge and the loss of innocence that comes with wisdom. Figs are also a source of traditional medicine with sap being used to treat a variety of illnesses from intestinal upsets to heart problems and malaria. Generally, Ficuses encourage stability and steadfastness in Feng Shui. Its Wood element feeds Fire in the productive cycle, symbolizing expansion and the chance for continuous growth and enhanced wealth or success. Moreover, its 'Zhen' Chi gives this tree the ability to amplify protective energy, especially in one's career and financial journey.

Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
