This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it.
I’m 'Gilly', the Brazilian Rain Tree, and native to the Brazil rainforests. I am a hardwood tree known for my small leaves that usually close up at night, or when agitated. I also have fragrant puffy flowers when older. I represent transformation and life cycles, much like the rainforest itself. Keep me in a location that has partial or full sun a few hours a day.
To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and let me drain thoroughly. Do this about once every 5 days, or when my pot feels about 1/2 lighter. Make sure my soil never dries out completely. I like temperatures between 45-80˚F all year and humidity in winter. On nice days you can even take me outside, where I’d love to feel the wind in my branches.
Symbolism: The Brazilian Raintree is a cultural icon; its ability to thrive in a diverse environment mirrors the perseverance that lies in the heart of Brazilian culture.
Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
