I’m Celia, the Dwarf Pink Powderpuff, a member of the Mimosa family and native to Ecuador. I have small spade-like leaves that fold up in prayer at night or when i'm agitated. My new growth sprouts first with a reddish color which eventually turns into a dark green color. My growth habit is more horizontal than vertical. I can also produce sporadic pink and white powderpuff flowers year round.
I am an indoor bonsai and do best in direct to bright, indirect sunlight and warmer temperatures to bloom. To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 20 minutes, and let me drain thoroughly. Submerge about once every 5-7 days, or when my pot feels about 1/2 lighter. For good air circulation, put me in a room with a fan or open window. Keep me away from heaters in the winter as this will dry me out quickly.
Symbolism: I am an auspicious plant in Feng Shui as I carry the symbolic essence of the Earth element. As such, I convey stability, endurance, and the nourishing energy of Earth. My Chi of 'Gen' is protective and amplifies defensive energetic vibrations in the home, further strengthened by the power of my Earth element.
