$ 75.00

I'm Pouch the Buddhist Pine Tree, native to Southern Japan and China. In the wild, I can grow up to 40 feet tall, but in your home I'll stay small. I'm a self-pollinating evergreen that grows little purple berries. I'm special because I'm one of the few conifers that can survive indoors.

I thrive in full to part sun. Keep me in temperatures above 55F all year, and away from heaters and air conditioners. Dry heat in the winter will really bother me, so make sure to stay on top of watering! In winter it's best to keep me in a cool spot in the house, away from any hot drafts.

To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes, and drain thoroughly. Do this about once every 5-7 days or when my pot starts to get light again. Water well when very hot or dry.

Symbolism: The Buddhist Pine is highly regarded in Asia where you'll find them near temples and sacred places because of their strong spiritual significance. They are considered sacred by Buddhists. They are also thought to be harbingers of good fortune. In Feng Shui this tree holds the ever-changing Wood element, symbolizing growth and transformation. Its Chi is associated with Thunder, thought to represent momentum, energy, and adaptability.

Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
