I’m Koki, the Shaving Brush Tree, a deciduous succulent tree native to and the Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean Islands. I produce fragrant, bright pink flowers that look like a brush.
Keep me in full sun or bright light. Water by submerging my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and drain well. Do this every 5-7 days, more often if very hot or dry. Make sure my soil dries a bit between waters!
Symbolism: The flower was sacred to Aztec and Mayan communities, who used it in ceremonies and as medicine. Considered a link to ancestors, it can be seen on Mayan ceramics and headdresses.
Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
