'Georgette' the Dwarf Variegated Elephant Bush - #712
This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it!
This Limited Edition of Georgette the Dwarf Variegated Elephant Bush in our new Katutubo Terracotta Planter is a rugged beauty inspired by indigenous Filipino patterns from Kalinga and Subanen textiles, pottery, and tattoos. Its beauty lies in its ethnic geometric patterns and carbonization technique, resulting in an uneven black-gray and deep brown coloring. For this one time collaboration, we worked with Northern Philippines-based Red Slab Pottery.
I’m Georgette the Dwarf Variegated Elephant Bush, native to southern Africa. I am an evergreen succulent shrub known for my reddish brown stem and variegated cream and green leaves.
Keep me in a location that has direct sunlight for at least 4 hours a day. A southern or western facing window works best. To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 5 minutes and let me drain thoroughly. Do this about once every 7 days, or when my pot feels 1/2 lighter. Dry, warm apartments might make me dry out quicker, so monitor the weight of my pot.
Under the right conditions I grow vigorously-- prune exploding growth twice a year to keep me in shape. My clippings are easily propagated! In the warmer months, you can take me outside for warm air and natural sun.
Symbolism: In Feng Shui, the Elephant Bush's Earth element symbolizes balance and stability, with the capacity to foster a solid foundation in the home. Interestingly, the Elephant Bush has 'Kun' Chi or energy, embodying maternal care, nurturing, love, and care. Consequently, it's an auspicious choice in Feng Shui, helping to facilitate the flow of energy and catalyze personal transformation.
Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
