This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it.
I'm Holly the Dwarf Holly, native to the Caribbean. I'm a low-growing evergreen with dark green, spiny-toothed leaves. In the Summer I begin to bloom pink, open trumpet-shaped flowers, followed by sporadic blooms throughout the year. When my flowers fall, the base eventually fruits into red drupes-- a stone fruit commonly eaten by birds.
I'm an indoor, sub-tropical tree that must be kept above 55 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. But when it's warm enough, you can bring me outside to enjoy the sun and breeze. I like full to part sun throughout the year. In the summer, protect me from harsh direct afternoon sun and keep me in bright shade. Keep me well watered and never allow my soil to fully dry out. To water, submerge my pot in a bowl of water up to the rim, let sit for 5-10 minutes, then let me drain well. Generally it is every 5-7 days, more often if unusually hot or dry. You can tell by the weight of my pot-- when I am 1/2 lighter, I need water. Fertilize 1x/month in the growing season and prune in the growing season for blooms.
Symbolism: In Feng Shui, the Dwarf Holly's Wood element reflects growth and vitality, ultimately representing the energies of expansion that bring about new growth and opportunity. Its Chi, 'Zhen,' signifies thunder, symbolizing awakening and transformation. This tree is an auspicious choice if you are seeking to invite dynamic and invigorating energies to stimulate progress amidst stagnancy.
