I’m Hana the Sleeping Hibiscus, a flowering plant native to the American South, Central America, and South America. I produce bright pink/red, partially open flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds! I have many nicknames, including Wax Mallow, Bleeding Hearts, and Manzanita.
Keep me in bright, full sun or partially shady environments. Water by submerging my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and drain well. Do this every 5-7 days, more often if very hot or dry.
Symbolism: I have healing power. In Mexico and Central America, I have been used to treat a variety of health issues and bring color to a variety of products as a dye.
Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
