This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it.

Hand-thrown by Paul Kierulf, this limited edition Pop Rock planter celebrates difference and imperfection. There is a crack on the back side of the planter as a result of the firing process. Some may view this pot as 'broken,' but not us! It reminds us of the cracks and the perfect imperfections found everywhere in the natural world.

I’m Diego the flowering Bloodwood Tree. I'm native to southern Mexico and northern Central America. I'm a member of the legume family and known for my heart-shaped leaves and fragrant yellow flowers. I was used for a very long time as a natural source of red-orange dye and revolutionized the textile industry when only the wealthy could afford to wear purple and bright red clothing extracted from the juices of bugs and exotic plants.

I love bright conditions. Being near a window will be the best spot in the home, especially if it gets bright indirect light. I enjoy being outside when the weather is above 50F, but I'll make a good indoor companion year-round nonetheless. Just remember to keep me away from heaters and air conditioners. Strong changes in temperature aren't my friend. To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes. Do this about once every 5-7 days, or when my pot starts to get light again. You can safely pinch back my leaves to keep me in shape twice a year.

Symbolism: Guided by Feng Shui's Wood element, the Bloodwood embodies growth and creativity, and ultimately promotes an energetic life force, opening of new paths, and progressive change towards well-being. The 'Zhen' Chi symbolizes Thunder, indicative of sudden transformation and change. This tree signifies powerful shifts, transformative growth, and strength amidst adversity.

Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
