I’m 'Kiki', the Kyoto Serissa, and native to open woodlands and wet meadows in southeast Asia. I have a wide and old trunk. I'm from the genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. I sport little pink flowers and bloom often throughout the year, which is how I got my nickname, ‘Tree of a Thousand Stars.’
I will thrive indoors in bright indirect light and prefer not to be moved around or else I get really nervous and will drop leaves. Keep me in temperatures above 50 ̊F all year. To water, submerge my pot in water for about 10 minutes or longer. I will suck up water through my pot’s drainage hole. Do this about once every 5-7 days, or when my pot feels about 1/2 lighter.
Symbolism: The Serissa flowers all year round with small white/pink flowers. This tree symbolizes abundance, luck and hope.
