I’m 'Guchi' the Chinese Perfume Tree and native to Southeast Asia. I'm known for my fragrant yellow flowers that are sweet and slightly lemon scented. My flowers can be dried and used in small bud vases or added to cupboards for an additional fresh scent.
I’m shade tolerant, but prefer bright indirect light. I'm a beginner-friendly starter bonsai because I tolerate some drought. The best way to water me is to submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 10 minutes about once every 4-7 days, or more often when very hot or dry.
Symbolism: My plant genus, Aglaia, comes from Greek mythology after the name of one of the Three Graces. The Graces were symbols of charm and beauty and associated with the goddess of love.
