Forest Temple Candle

A secret shrine hides among a mossy Hinoki forest. Those who have found it are said to be granted great fortune and clarity. A bonfire burns sacred wood and fallen maple leaves, as water flows into a stone basin. It washes away our worries and purifies our intentions.
Inspired by Japan's moss forest temples, this candle collaboration with Joya Studio transports the imagination to faraway sacred power spots. The temple symbol on the candle is a Kamidana, a miniature shrine that translates literally to 'god shelf' for which intentions are facilitated in the home. The 'lightning symbol' is called a Shide which is used by a Shinto priest in a purification ritual.
