'Mai' the Water Jasmine

$ 240.00

I’m Mai the Water Jasmine, native to Southeast Asia and China. My light green leaves are lanceolate shaped and I produce bunches of fragrant white flowers that hang like pendants. I'm a holy plant for the buddhists and you can find me planted in temples and house gardens. In some countries, my roots and bark serve a medicinal purpose.

I'm an indoor tree and love the heat! You can take me outside for natural sun and air, as long as temps stay above 65 ̊F. I love humidity, lots of water, and thrive in full to bright indirect sun. Water every 5-7 days, or when my pot feels 1/2 lighter. Monitor well and never let my soil dry. To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and let drain. Keep me away from AC and heater drafts as this dries me out quickly.

Symbolism: Represented by the 'Kan' trigram in Feng Shui, the Water Jasmine signifies profound knowledge and wisdom. For this reason, it is the Buddhists' tree of choice. Resonant with the water element, the Water Jasmine symbolizes continuous flow and change; as water flows unimpeded, it encourages energies of adaptability and progress.

Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
