I’m Walter the Texas Ebony, native to southern Texas and eastern Mexico. As part of the pea family, I can produce legume flowers when I'm older. My branches grow in an interesting zig-zag pattern.
I like direct to indirect bright natural light. To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 10 minutes and then let me drain thoroughly. Submerge about once every 5-7 days and allow my topsoil to get nearly dry before watering again. You can also check the weight of my pot and water when I'm 1/2 lighter. Please keep me in temperatures between 50 to 85F year-round. In the warm months I am happy to live outdoors. For good air circulation, put me in a room with a fan or open window as I like to feel the breeze.
Symbolism: The Texas Ebony is a tree of harmony; when placed in the East, this tree's symbolic Wood element is believed to balance and amplify this direction's nurturing energy. In Feng Shui Wood symbolizes development through a solid foundation. When coupled with its Chi, 'Zhen,' the Ebony illustrates vigor, determination, and the image of perseverance.
Includes basic care instructions. We always recommend doing more research as each environment-- and tree!-- is unique. Plate sold separately.
