I'm Tanner, a native East Coaster and the smallest hemlock around. I have soft needles and compact branching that can be shaped and wired.
Care: I like bright indirect sun to partial shade, and shy away from a scorching afternoon sun in high summer. I pack tannins in my bark that used to help Native Americans tan leather. Remember, I am an outdoor tree and need to be outside in temperatures between 20 and 90F. In winter, I can take freezing temperatures and snow (I'm Canadian!)
