I’m Jasper the Japanese Garden Juniper, native to Japan. I'm a dwarfed slow-growing Juniper variety with spiny-pointed blue-green to gray-green needles. Junipers have the distinction of being the most popular common bonsai right now for our bushy compact look and natural droop. I do best in a full-sun location.
Water me well by placing my pot in a bowl of water up to the rim for 5-10 minutes, about once every 5-7 days, or whenever my pot feels 1/2 lighter. As an evergreen conifer I stay green all year, so you can enjoy my color even on the coldest days.
Remember, I am an outdoor plant. I only like to be indoors for a meet-and-greet, but then go back outside. In winter, put me in a protected spot outside, away from extreme windchill, where I can go dormant and feel rested come springtime. I'm hardy in temps down to the single digits.
