I’m Jadé, the Dwarf Elephant Bush, native to southern Africa. I am an evergreen succulent shrub known for my plump green leaves and thick brown trunk that shows my age.
I would like to live in a location that has direct sunlight for at least 4-6 hours a day. A southern or western facing window works best. To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and then let me drain thoroughly. Do this about once every 10-14 days, or when my pot feels 1/2 lighter. Very sunny or dry, warm apartments might make me dry out quicker, so be sure to check the weight of my pot. Take me outside on nice days in summer for warm summer air.
Symbolism: In Feng Shui, the Elephant Bush's Earth element symbolizes balance and stability, with the capacity to foster a solid foundation in the home. Interestingly, the Elephant Bush has 'Kun' Chi or energy, embodying maternal care, nurturing, love, and care.
