This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it!
I’m Shay, the Specimen Philippine Tea Tree or Carmona Microphylla and native to Southeast Asia. I'm a 15+ year old specimen tree in the informal upright style of bonsai. I’m a medicinal plant in some countries, where my leaves are used as a tea substitute to remedy stomach ailments. I also get small white flowers throughout the year that hang like pendants, symbolizing courage and heart.
Keep me indoors in winter, where I’m fine as a houseplant, in temperatures between 60 ̊-80 ̊F. If you’d like, I can spend some time outdoors in the shade when the weather is nice. I like humidity and take bright indirect light. Water about once a week, or when my pot feels light again. To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 10-20 minutes.
This Slate Gray Acorn Planter with its smooth matte finish is a special collaboration with NYC ceramic artist Jonathan Castro.
