This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it! This planter is a Dandy Farmer in-house original, made by Paul Kierulf.

I’m Shay, the Philippine Tea Tree or Carmona Microphylla and native to Southeast Asia. I’m a medicinal plant in some countries, where my leaves are used as a tea substitute to remedy stomach ailments. I also get small white flowers throughout the year that hang like pendants, symbolizing courage and heart.

Keep me in temperatures between 60-80F all year. In winter, a humidifier is a good idea to counter the harsh drying effect of heaters. I like field trips and can even spend some time outdoors in the shade when the weather is nice. I take bright indirect light, or full morning or late afternoon sun. Water about once a week by submerging my pot all the way up to the rim for 20 minutes.

Symbolism:

The tea tree has medicinal values in Asia where leaves are used as a tea substitute to remedy stomach ailments. Its beautiful white flowers hang like pendants which symbolizes courage and 'heart'.
