'Maki' the Buddhist Pine Forest

$ 25.00

I'm 'Maki' the Buddhist Pine Tree, and native to Southern Japan and China. I am planted in this little pot as a forest-style bonsai planting. In the wild, I can grow up to 10 feet tall, but in your home I'll stay small. I'm a self-pollinating evergreen that grows little purple berries.

I love bright conditions. Keep me in temperatures above 50 degrees F all year, and away from heaters and air conditioners. Dry heat in the winter will really bother me! It's best if my winter home is a little cooler - around 60-70F.

To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 20 minutes. Do this about once every 4-5 or more often when very hot or dry.

Symbolism: The Buddhist Pine is highly regarded in Asia where you'll find them near temples and sacred places because of their strong spiritual significance. Considered sacred, they are also thought to be harbingers of good fortune.

Includes care instructions. Plate sold separately.
