This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it! Especially this rare mutation of the variegated Lacebark elm.
I’m Kento, the Variegated Lacebark Elm or an Ulmus parvifolia 'variegata.' I'm a rare variation of the elm tree and I've been told I look quite ethereal - like a cloud in the sky with my white and green speckled variegated leaves. I'm native to Japan, Korea and China. I’m known for my intense speckled variegation on each fine-toothed leaves, graceful lines and attractive bark. As I age, my bark begins to peel, revealing a beautiful underlying tan-and-brown color pattern.
I do best in full to partial sun conditions. You can water me once every 7-10 days, or more it it’s really hot.
To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 20 minutes and let me drain thoroughly. Remember that I am primarily an outdoor tree and will not be happy living indoors. In the winter season, try to keep me outside in temperatures between 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
The main aspect of Elm symbolism is strength, wisdom and will & intuition. Native American tribes used infusions from the inner root bark to treat colds, coughs, and fever.
