This one-of-a-kind tree stands apart from the rest. What you see in the photos are what you get, and there will never be another one like it.
I'm Mugs the Dwarf Mugo Pine, native to the cool mountains of Europe and Japan.
My dense and prickly mound of leaves stays green year-round. Gimme all the sun you got! I’m resilient; you can let my pot dry out between waterings. Some of you like my natural scent, I call it Mugs Musk. Its from my sap, but don’t call me sappy. I'm an outdoor bonsai and prefer full or partial sun locations for optimal health.
Give me a deep watering by submerging my pot up to my rim once every week, or when my pot starts to feel about 1/2 lighter. Submerge for at least 10 minutes. In the height of summer, water me more often if I'm in full sun. In winter I go dormant. Leave me in a cold, protected spot through winter and water only on unusually warm days. While I'm extremely hardy and can withstand temperatures up to -40 degrees, I thrive in winter temperatures between 25 and 50 degrees. You can prune me in spring, after my candles have formed.
Symbolism: Mugs is a sturdy evergreen with gentle foliage, thought to symbolize fortitude and manifest serenity. In Feng Shui it is ruled by the Wood element, like most pines. By nature, Wood represents growth, development, and vitality. In the Mugo pine, this is believed to foster family health and relationships, as it carries the 'Zhen' Chi, which naturally promotes harmony and tranquility. This is a perfect choice for anyone looking for some extra peace in your space.
