'Barb' the Philippine Tea Tree

I’m Barb, a dwarfed Philippine Tea Tree or Carmona Microphylla and native to Southeast Asia. I have very small leaves and tiny white flowers that bloom throughout the year and a gnarly looking trunk that makes me look very mature. I also produce small red fruits in the form of berries in the spring and summer months when in perfect conditions.

Keep me indoors in winter, where I’m fine as a houseplant, in temperatures between 60 ̊-80 ̊F. If you’d like, I can spend some time outdoors in the shade when the weather is nice. I like humidity and take bright indirect light. Water about once every 5-7 days, or when my pot feels light again. To water, submerge my pot in water up to the rim for 10-20 minutes.

Symbolism:

The tea tree has medicinal values in Asia where leaves are used as a tea substitute to remedy stomach ailments. Its beautiful white flowers hang like pendants which symbolizes courage and 'heart'.

Includes care instructions. Plate sold separately.
